Puppies and babies and authors, oh my!

A weekend full of doggie and baby love - Kobe, Lilah, Roxie and Buster take on Valmont Dog Park and Ava comes to visit our house for book club! (Complete pictures in FebMarch06 album on imagestation.) Also, I grin like a schoolgirl when meeting author Christopher Moore at his book signing on Monday.

Hey! I know you! Aren't you the one who gave me those pooch pops?! And are those TREATS in your belt bag?!

A happy Buster!

The most involved Lilah gets with the other dogs today... Yip! Yip!

Megan and Ava - aww!

Ava and her mommy, take 2. You'd think babies in this day and age would learn early to look at the camera!

Also: Christopher Moore and I, at his book signing, where he inscribed the title page of "Lamb"; To Dawn, Because everyone needs a 3rd grade messiah.

Aloha!!

So we are back from Maui, and sad because: Denver greeted us with 16 degree snowy weather, we had to return to work, and of course, we were no longer in Maui. I've added a selection of our better pictures to our travel site at Off Exploring, but here are a few highlights to add to this site. You can observe and understand our melancholy.

At our Eldorado Resort in Kaanapali - this is the walk from the condos, across the golf course, to the beach. Not bad, eh?

Derek on Kaanapali beach - look at that water!!

Perfection. (on Kaanapali beach)

Luau night! Me with flower lei stolen from the luau's hotel lobby, after the show.

Mid-ascent up Haleakala volcano, after I gave Derek some serious neck damage on account of a misunderstood "piggy back" cue

at the Garden of Eden on the Road to Hana - G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S

Derek and Mitra admiring the waterfall at the Garden of Eden, while his mom, sister and I laughed at their positioning, unbeknownst to them.

Black sand beach in Hana - mmmm.

a little grotto our group found at the black sand beach

Big Beach, our last beach stop of the trip. :(

food & friends

Perhaps it should be the other way around, but at both these events, the food was fantastic.
Here are the photos from the past month or so -- somehow, we are in the midst of March and there weren't many pictures taken! Not to fear - after our Maui trip, we will have so many, we won't know what to do with them except post post post! :)

Event # 1: Sherpa's Indian Restaurant

The Boys & Girls sides, respectively

Blake draws Derek a picture. Aww...

Event # 2: Barbeque at Leslie's

Leslie, Emma, Jimmy, Emily and Brendan smile while Kobe tries to steal Em's leftovers

Katie, Molly and Brianna, who didn't want their picture taken, but succumbed anyway. Mwuhaha.

Roxie poses with Leslie, Derek, me and our very full and happy stomachs.
